‘I need do nothing’

Allow yourself to do nothing

Let your mind and body completely relax

Drop your jaw, relax your shoulders

take a deep breath into your belly... and release

Allow any plans or responsibilities

to gently melt away

Notice what your mind says

when you try and do this

Often it will search frantically

for things you need to do

reasons why you can’t possibly ‘do nothing’

there is so much to do…

Allow these thoughts to pass you by

There is always something that says it needs doing

but there is no need to follow these thoughts

no matter how urgent they appear

they are not true… do no-thing…

In this space of relaxation, become aware

of the part of you that always does nothing

The still center of your being

The presence beneath the thoughts

The changeless awareness

from which all is simply observed

When you know yourself as this perfect stillness

you realize you are never actually doing anything

You need do nothing

As your body seems to be going about

doing things today

simply observe from the stillness of your center

Notice the way life goes on

without your conscious effort

Knowing there is no need to push the river

enter into a state of flow

and repeat these words…
